Lars de Rijck was born on the 29th of February 1992 in Assendelft a small town near Amsterdam.

When he was 9 years old he heard his teacher playing guitar at school and was blown away. He learned some chords from his teacher and knew right away that playing the guitar was something for him. When he was ten years old he started taking guitar lessons from Theo Salden. 3 years later his uncle gave him a ticket for a show of Tommy Emmanuel as a birthday present and he got infected by the “Tommy Emmanuel virus”. A few weeks later he had figured out some songs by ear from a CD.

Since 2006 Lars took guitar lessons from Thomas Bekhuis a Student of the conservatory of Amsterdam.

In October 2007 he won the first price on “The Northern Guitar Awards” in the catagory youth up to 16 years, a national guitar contest in Assen, Holland. In January 2008 Lars was invited by Harry Sacksioni to play in his City Talent Tour. He played in the crowded Philharmonie theater in Haarlem, Holland.
